As irony (or conspiracy) would have it, our long time comic shaman Tuli Kupferberg suffered a series of strokes last year at approximately the same time his classic Fugs tune CIA Man closed (and saved) the Coen brothers wild screwball comedy Burn After Reading. The 86-year-old co-founding Fug recovered, but found himself virtually a blind cartoonist. As this blog explains, a benefit was held to defray some of his medical expenses.
