Sparrow & Foamola @ St. Marks Church
Foamola has been described as “the best band since the Crimean War” by the Milwaukee Courier-Dispatcher. Since 1990, their frequent melodies have cheered the Lower East Side, and occasionally Soho. Foamola has appeared at Lincoln Center, been quoted by Time magazine, and amused the Beth Am Temple. Violet Snow (flute), Lawrence Fishberg (Casio), Sylvia Gorelick (toy xylophone) and Sparrow (ocarina) compose this neo-Freudian music team. They all also sing. “Balzac Prozac,” “John Quincy Adams” and “I’ve Been Reincarnated Too Many Times” have been anti-hits for generations of Downtown ex-Catholics.
